The Billy Lake Memorial Girls Basketball League season runs from May through
July at the Drexel Hill Middle School in Drexel Hill, PA. The league is based
on grade level (6-11), not age. The Junior League includes grades 6-8, and the
Senior League includes grades 9-11 based on the present school year at the time
of registration. Moving from the Junior League to the Senior League or vice
versa based on ability is NOT allowed.
Teams are chosen through a league draft, therefore, special considerations
such as car pooling and same school team are not a consideration.
Other rules include:
1-Every player must play at least one quarter
of the game during the regular season. Junior League: 7 minutes; Senior
League 8 minutes. Playing time is NOT guaranteed during the playoffs.

2-Five time-outs per game: Three full time-outs
and two 30 second time-outs.

3-Coaches and players who receive a technical
foul will be suspended for a game.

4-Man to Man Defense only.
|
5-Juniors play 14 minute halves; Seniors play
16 minute halves.
|
6-You must play in 5 games to be eligible for
the playoffs. Injured players must be present in order for the game to count.
Coaches are responsible for writing players names in the scorebook.

7-Federation rules will be enforced:
-Foul shots are played on the hit of the
rim.
-There will be a five second closely guarded
while dribbling rule.
-Ten Second Backcourt Rule
-One and one on the seventh foul and two
shots on the tenth foul.

8-All Players must wear their team shirts

9-All Teams make the playoffs.
